Dresden Rose Happy Birthday

Hi everyone! It's Leslie, guest designing for SweetStamps during the month of August, and I'm back with my inspiration project for the SweetStamps Birthday Challenge! Birthdays are so much fun to celebrate with awesome handmade cards, so come play with us! This is the last SweetStamps challenge in August which means this is my last guest design post. I want to thank Stacey, Kendra and team once again for this amazing opportunity! I've thoroughly enjoyed myself!

This is my first parchment crafting project and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed creating this card! I used the beautiful-beyond-words SweetStamps Dresden Rose Circle stamp, embossed with fine detail white embossing powder, colored on the back side, cut with 4-split perforating tool and mounted on three gorgeous die cuts. The inside sentiment is SweetStamps Happy Birthday stamped in Memento Bamboo Leaves ink. For full details, please see my full blog post at Love To Scrap!

Thanks so much for stopping by today - I hope you're inspired to create a pretty project for the SweetStamps Birthday challenge! Have an awesome day!
Hugs,
Leslie

A 3D Enamel Gel Tip

It is Laura here.  I just LOVE using the 3D Enamel Gels! They have gorgeous colors that blend well. I love how they can be used to add a little color to non porous surfaces, especially metals. I also enjoy playing with thin layers, which can be very transparent. What I often forget, though, is right in the name - they are 3D.  If applied directly from the bottle, they create a three dimensional look.  That is how I used them on this scrapbook page:
I created the look of dripping honey, by squeezing the gel right from the bottle.

Piccolo 3D Enamel Gels are incredible - you can use them anywhere!

Challenge #132, Birthday -- Thanks, Sweet Stamps!

Greetings, sweet friends.  Julie here from Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers.  August is fast coming to a close, which means my month of guest designing for Sweet Stamps is ending.  I have enjoyed it very much! I want to once again thank Stacey, Kendra, and the entire Sweet Stamps team for the opportunity to guest design.

I have one final card to share. This week's challenge is a birthday challenge.  Everyone needs a supply of birthday cards, so make one and enter the challenge!  I used several Sweet Stamps images on this card, including my favorite butterflies.  Here's what I made:

I used one of the  new ArtsyfArtsy stamps (AF4), "French Calligraphy" to create the background layer on this card, my favorite "Fanciful Butterflies" set (S600), and "Fancy Birthday Stacked" (9099D) for the Sweet Stamps images. The doily is also from the Sweet Stamps store. It is a Cheery Lynn die, Eastern Star (DL230).  It cuts beautifully! Designer papers are My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing Bluebell 6x6, and can be found in the Sweet Stamps store.
I think most people would be pleased to get this birthday card, what about you?
For more details about how I made this card, please visit my blog.
Again, thank you for a wonderful month!

Vintage Bowl and Pitcher

Hello everyone! It's Leslie, guest designing for SweetStamps during the month of August, and I'm here today to share with you my inspiration project for the SweetStamps Anything Goes challenge! We know everyone loves Anything Goes! Get creative and come play with us! ;)

This vintage card is heavily distressed. I used the absolutely gorgeous Bowl and Pitcher stamp, embossed on ivory cardstock, die cut and mounted on a very pretty round doily. Some burlap, twine and chocolate flat-back pearls complete the front. My favorite Have A Beautiful Day sentiment stamp on a scalloped oval die cut adorns the inside, keeping it simple. For details, please see my full blog post at Love To Scrap!

Thanks so much for stopping by - I hope you're inspired to create a beautiful project for this SweetStamps Anything Goes challenge! Whatever goodies you need to get your craft on, SweetStamps has! Take a look... you won't be disappointed! Have an awesome day!
Hugs,
Leslie

All That Glitter!

Good morning!  Chrissy here to let you in on a sparkly little gem. If you are like me, you love glitter and the more sparkly it is, the better! Piccolo's Pure Sparkle Glitter (available in silver or gold) is just as twinkly and vibrant as some of the more expensive glass glitters I've seen.

I'm here to show you a quick and easy way to dress up some plain ol' wood shapes I picked up at the craft store using Glastique and the amazing Pure Sparkle Glitter.

It really is simple.  Simply cover your shapes with the Glastique then pour on the bling!

Look at all that sparkly awesomeness! Shake the excess off into the glitter jar and set aside to dry.

Once the Glastique has dried, add another layer over the top of the glitter to seal it and anchor it all down. These stars are going to be used on a history project my daughter needs to do.

Thank you for taking a look at my final post with Globecraft & Piccolo.  It's been a fun ride and I do hope to see some of you around the craftin' block!

Cheers!

Margery - for Challenge #131 --Anything Goes!

Hello, stamping friends.  Julie here from Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers. I am loving my month of guest designing here at Sweet Stamps and it is going way too fast! When I was given the opportunity to guest design, I was also given the chance to pick out some stamps.  The first one I chose was Margery (Margery 527).  I knew I HAD to color her.  So, when I saw this "Anything Goes" challenge, I thought she would fit perfectly. And classically.  And classily!

Isn't she classy and elegant?  I love that hat and parasol. She was so much fun to color, with the different layers in her dress and all the elegant touches. I paired her with the Old Fashioned Wish (9065E) sentiment, also found in the Sweet Stamps store. I hope you fall in love with Margery like I did.  And, don't forget the Anything Goes Challenge this week!  If you want more details about this card, please visit my blog.

Masking challenge and Daisies

Hello, sweet friends.  Julie here again from Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers, and I want to express again my thanks to Kendra and the gang at Sweet Stamps for this opportunity.  I am having so much fun!
The monthly challenge has begun, and it's all about masking. The challenge is from Aug. 15- Sept. 14.  I tried several techniques before I came up with one I was satisfied with.  I love daisies, and chose to use the Daisy Bunch (3033H) to mask, and used the "A Bouquet of Good Wishes" (9126C) for my sentiment.
I masked and stamped the daisies several times, then fussy cut several and used foam tape to give them some loft. I used watercolor pencils on the flowers.  Please visit my blog for more details on this card.
You've got lots of time to make your own masking project and link up. Join in on the fun!
